Making tao's space at Pleasant Row

Throughout the building process we've adapted and changed. Pleasant Row in 2010 was going to be a renovation of a dilapidated house for our family of 4. That wasn't the plan for long. The plans were redrawn for a family of 6. As the plans have been coming to life, it became clear to me (tao) that my office was not the best use of space in the home. I put my hobbies and memories and projects into our 5th bedroom. My office and Kevin's office merged into a beautiful den/music room. And, maybe the best part, our 4th child arrived - kicking my stuff out of her room and into corners and nooks in our master bedroom and the basement. Our family of 6 was complete. Our home is a comfortable space for our family. The basement is becoming a great workspace for Kevin. I've successfully started my garden plants in the basement, but the space isn't ideal for me, Kevin, or the plants. Thus, the title of the post comes in.
tao needed space. The barns needed work. The kids wanted a fort. In 2017 I started cleaning out the smaller barn. The upstairs became a place that the 3 oldest kids could hang out and explore some old books and other treasures. The structure was still badly in need of restoration; it had crumbling roof, siding, and mortar. As winter ended in 2019 I created a new plan for a restored barn to be my space. I needed help and called some contractors along the way. I am happy with 2 of the 3 contractors, and I am very happy with the work Kevin and I have put into this. Here's a collage of some of the progress. I will write more soon.
